WHAT IS THIS SPRING CLEANING CHECKLIST?
Everyday cleaning keeps a house running; spring cleaning resets it. This free spring cleaning checklist printable is a room-by-room deep-clean plan: Kitchen, Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Living Areas, Laundry and Utility, and Outdoors and Garage, each with its own checkbox tasks covering the jobs that get skipped all year — the oven, the baseboards, the windows, the closet floors, the things you only notice when the spring light hits them. This spring cleaning schedule printable checklist is free to download – print as many copies as you like.
It is for anyone who wants the satisfaction of a whole-house reset without the paralysis of a vague “clean everything” ambition. You work through it room by room, checking boxes as you go, and the list decides what “deep clean” means so you do not have to. Do it over one big weekend or spread it across the month — the checklist does not care about your schedule, only your progress.
And here is the secret: despite the name, this is a four-times-a-year tool. Print a fresh copy each season and the “deep” jobs never get deep again, because nothing goes twelve months untouched. Spring is just the traditional starting line.
If you need the week-to-week maintenance that keeps the house from sliding back between deep cleans, our weekly cleaning schedule breaks everyday chores into small daily tasks.

WHAT’S INSIDE THIS SPRING CLEANING SCHEDULE PRINTABLE CHECKLIST
KITCHEN
The hardest-working room gets the longest list: clean the oven and stovetop, degrease the range hood and filter, empty and wipe the refrigerator and toss the expired, clean the microwave inside and out, descale the coffee maker and kettle, wipe cabinet fronts and handles, mop behind and under appliances you can move, and wash the trash can.
BATHROOMS
Scrub grout and re-caulk where it is failing, descale showerheads and faucets, wash or replace the shower curtain liner, deep-clean the toilet including behind and the base, organize under-sink cabinets and toss the expired, wash bath mats, and wipe the exhaust fan cover.
BEDROOMS
Flip or rotate the mattress and vacuum it, wash pillows and the mattress protector, declutter nightstands and dressers, wipe baseboards and window sills, wash curtains or blinds, vacuum under the bed, and sort the one closet or drawer you have been avoiding.
LIVING AREAS
Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures, wash windows inside (and out if you can), vacuum upholstery including under the cushions, shampoo or spot-treat rugs and carpet, wipe remote controls and light switches, dust bookshelves and decor, and polish wood furniture.
LAUNDRY AND UTILITY
Clean the washing machine with a hot cycle, vacuum the dryer vent and lint trap housing, wipe down the machines’ exteriors, organize cleaning supplies and toss the dried-out ones, test smoke and CO detectors, and replace HVAC filters.
OUTDOORS AND GARAGE
Sweep the porch and entryway, wash outdoor furniture, clean the gutters or schedule it, declutter one garage zone (not the whole garage — one zone), check the grill and fuel, and wash the exterior windows you can safely reach.
HOW TO USE THIS SPRING CLEANING SCHEDULE PRINTABLE CHECKLIST
- Print the checklist and pick your pace: one power weekend, or one room per weekend across six weeks. Both finish; only the heroic single-day attempt fails.
- Gather supplies before you start each room: all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, degreaser, microfiber cloths, trash bags, a donation box. Stopping mid-room to shop kills momentum.
- Work top to bottom, dry to wet: ceilings and fans first, dusting next, floors last. This is the professional order and it genuinely saves rework.
- Check boxes as you finish each task. The visible progress is the motivation system — a half-checked page pulls you forward better than willpower.
- For each room, run a “one bag out” rule: one trash bag and one donation bag leave the house per room. Deep cleaning without decluttering just rearranges the clutter.
- When the list is done, date it and file it. Next season, print a fresh copy. Comparing seasons shows you which rooms slide fastest, which tells you where your weekly routine needs reinforcing.
PRINTING TIPS
Print at “Actual size” or 100 percent scale so the checkboxes stay easy to tick. Standard 80 GSM paper is fine — this is a working document that will get dusty. If you laminate it or use a dry-erase sleeve, one copy lasts all four seasons with a marker. Both A4 and US Letter versions are included. The black-and-white design prints cleanly and photocopies well if the family is splitting rooms.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this checklist really free?
Yes. The PDF is free for personal use in both A4 and US Letter sizes. Print a fresh copy every season.
Do I have to do it in spring?
No. The tasks are the same deep-clean jobs whatever the month. Spring is traditional because of the light and the open windows, but a fall reset before the holidays is just as valuable. The checklist is undated on purpose.
What if I rent and cannot do some tasks?
Skip what does not apply — renters can ignore gutters, exterior windows, and anything the landlord handles. The indoor rooms are the core of the reset and work in any home.
How do I keep it clean after the deep clean?
That is the job of a weekly routine. Our weekly cleaning schedule spreads everyday maintenance across the week in short daily sessions, so the deep-clean results actually last until next season.
